Deborah Rhea Seehorn Bio

Deborah Rhea Seehorn (born May 12 1972) is an American actress. She is well-known for her role as attorney Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), for which she was two-time winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress - Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She was also on the NBC's Whitney (2011–2013) as well as ABC's I'm with Her 2003-2004, and TNT's Franklin & Bash 2011-2014. Deborah Rhea Seehorn was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on May 12 in 1972. Her mother was the executive secretary for the United States Navy, her father was an agent in Naval Investigative Service. The family resided in Washington, D.C., Arizona, Japan, and often moved around during her childhood. She followed in the footsteps of her parents and grandparents by learning about architecture, painting and drawing since a young age. Although she pursued the visual arts throughout her life, she developed a passion for acting. While in college she was introduced to contemporary theatre. In 1994, she graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art. Seehorn, who was studying in college and was looking to enter theatre after being inspired by her teacher in acting. She held a variety of ancillary roles in the theater industry in D.C. to try to make her stand out. She was eventually offered major roles in local theater productions but had to work odd jobs to earn a living as she landed roles in various short instructional industrial films. In the next few years, she became part of more television productions. She was often compared to Bea Arthur, who she described as "very funny," "sarcastic, and knowing" women. The majority of her parts were then ended after one or two seasons. Seehorn was chosen to play Kim Wexler in the Breaking Bad prequel series Better Call Saul in May 2014. Seehorn is Kim Wexler (a lawyer) and is the love-interest for the main character, Jimmy McGill/Saul.
